A List Apart is a leading online magazine devoted to design, development, and the benefits of designing with web standards. They publish many articles and one article in particular led to the menu that you see on this website.
Adventure24 and Ultra O-gaine Logos
There is no doubt that without the help of Cathi Cannon from eyeprojector, the Adventure24 and Ultra O-gaine would have no identity. Cathi is an adventure racer herself so she knew exactly what we were going for with the logos she created. She is highly motivated with design and racing so if you are in need of either, she is worth seeking out.
Web Software
There are a number of software packages used to give the site dynamic content and provide site visitors with a better overall experience. Our message board of choice is PunBB. It provides both ease of use and customization. The blog is powered by Wordpress, which powers many of the blogs around the world. On the backend we use phplist as our mailing list software. We use Stikipad and Google Docs and Spreadsheets to share content while planning our races.
Registered Teams Google Map
After playing around with the Google Maps, I knew I wanted to use it on this website somewhere. We replaced the old registered team list with a fully dynamic ajaxed up Google Map. Modeled after the Competitor Map from Checkpoint Tracker, the map is powered by data posted to a mysql database from a custom form in the admin section of our website. No more manually updating html, it's all automated. Special thanks to this tutorial for pointing us in the right direction in regards to Google Maps. This tutorial was used as the template for the form that inputs the data for the Google Map.
Mail Script
We all know spam is a huge problem. With that in mind, we wanted to remove our email addresses from the website but allow our users to still contact us. In came the idea of a mail script, and in particular the Ultimate Form Mail Script. Check it out if you are in need of a great and easy to use php mail script.

cpadventures.com is hosted by Total Choice Hosting. I don't think you can find a better host for the money. The starter plan is $4/month and $44 for a year and most likely will provide you with everything you could need. Check them out.
